Start Date: 5 January 2026
Our clerk will retire in early 2026 and the Trustees of the Lambourn Almshouses are seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Trustees to support the smooth running of this long-established local charity. The charity provides safe, comfortable, and affordable housing to people in need within the Lambourn community.
The Clerk will work closely with the Trustees to ensure that the charity operates efficiently, remains compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements, and continues to serve its residents with care and integrity.

Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Trustees through the preparation of agendas, minutes, and meeting papers.
- Ensuring compliance with Charity Commission and other statutory requirements.
- Managing maintenance and operational matters at the Almshouses.
- Maintaining accurate records, registers, and policies.
- Liaising with contractors, residents, auditors, and other stakeholders
- Assisting with projects and property matters, including Westfield Farm.
- Engages with residents of the Almshouses to resolve issues.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Communicates clearly and professionally, both in writing and in person.
- Understands charity governance and regulation (or is willing to learn).
- Can work independently and manage their own time effectively.
- Brings practical common sense to property and maintenance matters.
This is a part-time role of 15 hours per week with flexible working arrangements and 84 hours of annual leave per year.
The clerk will work closely with the Financial Controller who manages the financial affairs of the charity.
